By the end of the 48 hour period, they had constructed several anti-aircraft and anti-ship positions overlooking the shores of the islands. Although two separate movements, the insurgents in both islands had similar goals they were to break off from the apparently oppressive mainland and form governments better suited to their views and interests. The situation escalated into an international conflict when a fourteen-nation coalition came to the aid of Trenaka, pitted against the officially rogue fleet of Dernel, discrete support of a Cossack company, and the open support of Crysuko.
